Treatment & Transformation

A Class for Acupuncturists. Examine how acupuncture treatment can positively influence the dying process. Patients facing death often do deep transformational and healing work. Others may be searching for a way to create a whole cloth out of their living. As acupuncturists, we are uniquely trained to help patients with this depth work.    The class draws on case histories and teaching stories from the instructor’s extensive work with hospice patients and their families. Plenty of time is allotted for discussion and your experiences in and out of the treatment room.

    • Consider patient’s priorities and symptoms.
    • Re-consider patient assessment, treatment planning, and point selection.
    • Choosing points for body.mind.spirit.
    • Learn ways to open the “end of life” conversation.
    • Learn about the work of the dying person — it is sacred and challenging.
    • Learn common signs and symptoms that occur during the dying process.
    • Discuss when to intervene and when to “let it be.”

“Attending Barbara Catlin’s Treatment & Transformation at the End of Life Workshop is a treatment in itself.  She created an ambiance of loving attendance to the subject.

I came away from the workshop with a sense of confidence in my ability to work with the dying; I now have an understanding of the transformation that can happen during the last part of life.”
